The Biden administration continues to attack our rights, with the ATF now attempting effectively to ban private gun sales. The ATF has proposed a rule requiring background checks even for private gun sales.

Conservative attorney Michele Maples told KTRH, this rule is redundant and likely won't survive a court challenge even if it does get approved.

"What the ATF is attempting to do is add another law on top of a pile of laws that already exists."

Maples says this rule would probably not have any effect on illegal gun sales and wouldn't do anything more to keep guns out of the hands of those who are barred from possessing them legally. What it could do, however, is aid in making sure that no one in the United States possesses a firearm legally without the ATF knowing about it.
