Texas insurance rates increases are slowing, but coverage is available. Some states, like California, Colorado and Florida are seeing companies leave their states. This puts consumers in a tough spot - sometimes unable to get any coverage. Home and auto insurance are both seeing this phenomenon.
Rich Johnson, Director of Communications for the Insurance Council of Texas says Texans will continue to have lots of options for insurance carries and coverages. Consumers will see higher premiums, but coverage will be available and the risk of carriers leaving the state are low. Johnson thinks that the rate of increase in premiums is slowing too.
