As we wait and see as to whether or not Governor Greg Abbott will call -another- special session for the Texas legislature, some conservative Republicans are calling out the Speaker of the Texas House, Dade Phelan and other House leaders, for failing the voters.
With the crisis at the border leading towards the impeachment of DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Texas lawmakers could have done their part to secure the border.
"It was the leadership of the Texas House that killed the strongest border security bill, HB-20 the Border Protection Unit Act & the Texas Title 42 Act" said state representative Brian Harrison, "Those were killed by the liberal leadership in the Texas House, with their Democrat parliamentarians."
And even though the 89th Texas legislative session isn't set to begin until January of 2025, the time is now to get the agenda set.
"What I'm asking the speaker to do, I've put together an agenda" Harrison told KTRH, "The left and the Democrats and the Biden administration, they're working around the clock to destroy our freedoms and to destroy the integrity of our southern border. We should not waste a single minute, and should be preparing a pro-liberty agenda next session."
There is still a chance that Governor Abbott will call another special session, but it is not expected to happen until after the March primaries.
