Biden asks SCOTUS to rule on cutting of Texas border razor wire

The never-ending battle between the Biden Administration and Texas Governor Greg Abbott continuing into 2024. The Biden White House today asked the Supreme Court of the United States to rule on the cutting of razor wire on the Texas-Mexico Border.

Last month, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans ruled that Border Patrol agents had to stop cutting the wire. This came after reports that Border Patrol agents were intentionally cutting the wire to allow immigrants to cross the border.

The Administration argues that agents have the federal authority to access private land, and also, that the wire prevents agents from patrolling the area.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton also filed suit against the administration over the issue. No word on when a ruling would be handed down.
