To say that 2023 was a wild year in Texas politics would be an understatement.

In fact, reporter Holly Hansen with The Texan News has another word for it. Remarkable.

"The effort to impeach Attorney General ken Paxton was historic," Hansen told KTRH. That ultimately failed in the Senate after passing in the House.

Then there were the legislative battles.

"They did finally hammer out a tax cut program. What they did not resolve was the conflict over whether or not Texas would have expanded school choice," Hansen explained.

So that sets us up for what Hansen thinks could be an even wilder 2024.

"I doubt we'll see another special session. The big battles will be in the primary elections," Hansen stated.

Those primaries are coming up in March, with Governor Greg Abbott already endorsing against those who voted against school choice, and Paxton endorsing against those who voted to impeach him.

In other words, buckle up. This could get bumpy.
