Union Pacific is blasting a decision to close two international railroad bridges in South Texas, saying losses are in excess of $200,000,000 a day.
Both crossings are in Congressman Tony Gonzales's district and he says he wants them open.
Midwest farmers are also furious. Corn, rice and soybean producers sent a sharply-worded letter to the head of Homeland Security, saying the closures have caused steep export losses.
CBP shuttered the bridges to stop asylum-seekers from using trains to cross illegally.
Gonzales says the impact is felt far from the border.
