Border Patrol ordered to stop cutting razor wire at Texas border

Texas has picked up a small victory down at the border once again, amid chaos resulting from their newest border laws.

The New Orleans-based Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled in favor of Texas, and ordered that Border Patrol stop cutting razor wire being placed along the Rio Grande. Over 30-miles of wire have been placed to deter illegal immigration.

The ruling comes after Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sued the Federal Government for purposefully cutting the wire to allow immigrants across the border. HIs argument is based around the Feds not having the right to damage or seize state property, due to it not being on federal land. The Department of Justice has been fighting with the state over its legality.

The appeals court did however grant an exception for agents who are responding to medical emergencies.
