After 5 seasons as head football coach of the University of Houston Cougars, Dana Holgorsen will be seeking other opportunities.
The Cougars finished 4-8 this season, their first as part of the Big 12 Conference. Former Coach Holgorsen stands to receive almost $15 Million in contract payouts over the next 4 years.
He was previously head coach at West Virginia - a team that the Cougars beat this season on a last play Hail Mary Play at TDECU Field in Houston.
The win over his former team was not enough to keep Holgorsen around at the end of the season. A early season loss to cross-town rivals the Rice Owls was poorly received by Cougar fans.
