A Houston clinic owner and a Georgia doctor are headed to prison for operating a five-million-dollar pill mill scheme.
The Justice Department says 44-year-old Elmer Taylor of Houston is sentenced to 12-years, and 40-year-old Dr. Jonathan Rosenfield of Atlanta will serve ten-years, after they pleaded guilty to conspiracy to unlawfully distribute controlled substances.
Rosenfield and Taylor issued prescriptions for more than a million oxycodone and hydrocodone pills for no legitimate medical purpose.
The pills ended up on the illegal market.
