On Friday, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo accused District Attorney Kim Ogg of engineering the investigation that now being conducted by Texas Rangers into Hidalgo's office. Today, the D.A. responded.
"What we saw Friday was really more of a tantrum than a statement. It's a very serious matter this criminal investigation of public corruption, and it has led to a grand jury's indictment of three of Lina Hidalgo's former staffers," Ogg said.
Ogg also said Hidalgo has been attempting to throw shade at the investigation for well over a year now.
"The thing that's unusual is an elected official basically not cooperating; attacking and degrading the Texas Rangers, the judge in the case, the prosecutors investigating it and the grand jury that true billed her staffers," Ogg explained.
The latest investigation is tied to the criminal probe that resulted in the indictment of three Hidalgo staffers for their roles in what is alleged to be a COVID contract bid rigging scheme.
