In the third special session of the Texas Legislature this year the Senate has approved a plan Houston and other Texas families pay for private school.
On Thursday, the Texas Senate gave initial approval to a bill that would create a school voucher program.
If passed, the bill would create education savings accounts that would allow families to access up to $8,000 of state funds to pay for private schools.
The bill now heads to the state House, where it could reportedly run into more roadblocks.
