Texas DPS confirms a Huntsville police officer was shot at an apartment complex off I-45 Thursday afternoon, responding to a man with a gun "acting erratically."
The suspect reportedly refused orders to drop the weapon before exchanging gunfire with police. The suspect died.
According to the Montgomery County Police Reporter, the officer is in stable condition at a hospital in Conroe.
