Willow Waterhole MusicFEST: A Fantastic Lineup of Musical Talent

Here's the lastest on MusicFEST. Be sure to mark your calendars for October 28:

Willow Waterhole Greenspace Conservancy’s MusicFEST is back, and it’s a day you won’t want to miss! On Saturday, October 28, from 11 AM to 7 PM, their 11th MusicFEST promises to deliver great music, food, fun and a sense of community. Don’t stress about parking—it’s easy and free at southwest Houston’s Westbury High School, with a shuttle but to take you the short distance to the festival grounds.

The family-friendly event has something for everyone. Whether you’re passionate about music, excited for Halloween-themed activities, or interested in Houston’s popular food trucks, MusicFEST has got you covered.

The heart of MusicFEST is the exceptional lineup of vocalists and bands. They’ll offer everything from soulful beats to smooth jazz, rock ‘n’ roll, funk, gospel, oldies, Santana classics, blues, and R&B. You’ll see Latin guitarist Mark Towns and SANTANABRAXIS, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Horace Alexander Young with his band ENTOUCHE, multitalented jazz vocalist Renea Jazzie Baker, trombonist Matthew Hartnett and his Gumbo All-Stars, the versatile Reverb Cartel group, and sax soloist Eric Demmer and his Eric Demmer Band. Four top-notch school bands from nearby music magnet schools will showcase their incredible young talent.

You can relax at picnic tables or bring your own lawn chairs or blankets. And be sure to explore the picturesque Willow Waterhole Greenway. You’ll find a breathtaking oasis nestled within the heart of the city. This 291-acre, dual-use park is a network of six detention lakes, prairie, marsh, islands, native plants, wildlife, and park amenities. This unusual greenspace is designed to protect against flooding and to bring the community together for conservation, education, and recreation.

The festival’s success is a testament to the dedication of the Conservancy’s board members, the passional festival committee, and countless volunteers. Pivotal in shaping the festival’s musical direction are Howard Sacks, Events chair and past Conservancy board president, along with Al Campbell, a renowned local performer and music teacher.

At MusicFEST, you’re not just attending a music festival; you’re joining a community tradition that celebrates the magic of music and the spirit of togetherness.
