The race to replace former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy won't get underway until next week, but a couple of heavy hitters have officially thrown their hats into the ring.
House Majority Leader Steve Scalise from Louisiana and Ohio's Jim Jordan both announced runs today.
Scalise has been receiving treatment for blood cancer, but says it was caught early and says it is "very treatable."
Jordan is the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, and has been one of the main driving forces in the investigation into the business activities of the Biden family.
