Texas Congressman Troy Nehls is thinking outside the box when it comes to the next Speaker of the House.
Nehls, who voted to keep Kevin McCarthy as Speaker, told Houston's Morning News he intends to nominate a familiar name for an unfamiliar role.
"Jim Jordan's name has been floated around" Nehls said. "When I come back here, I am nominating Donald J. Trump for Speaker. Will he have the votes? I don't know. We're going to find out.
While you might think it sounds crazy, given his legal issues and Presidential campaign, Nehls says it's not so far fetched.
"When you look at what he's accomplished, he could come up here and fix this place, and then in 14 months he can move right on over and become the President," Nehls explained.
