Eight Republicans voted to remove Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House, None of them came from Texas.
That includes Chip Roy, who has been critical of the former Speaker in the past. Roy told Fox News last night that the caucus will eventually unify.
"We're going to get through this and come together, because we have to stand up for the American people," Roy said.
Interim Speaker Patrick McHenry has given members a week off before they consider who the next Speaker will be. Roy isn't a fan of that at all.
"We need to do our job, We need to stay here and do what the American people sent us here to do," Roy stated.
Roy did not go after Matt Gaetz over the motion to vacate. Others, like Dan Crenshaw did.
"They forced him into a position that they could then punish him for. They voted against a stopgap bill that had out border security bill," Crenshaw told Newsmax. "It was like a conservative wish list. They made sure that tank just so you'd have to pass a clean C-R and then punish him for it," Crenshaw explained.
