Time is running out on Congress to pass a spending bill in order to avoid a partial government shutdown this weekend. Don't expect Texas Congressman Chip Roy to rubber stamp anything.
Roy told Houston's Morning News on Thursday that unless the border is secured, he is a no vote on any plan that Speaker Kevin McCarthy comes up with.
"Our Democrat colleagues will not work with us at all to do what most Americans want us to do, which is stop the insanity; stop the lawlessness," Roy said.
In the end, Roy says a shutdown will be on Democrats, not Republicans.
"President Biden, Chuck Schumer, and Democrats are playing games and would prefer to shut down the government rather than do their job. We're going to secure the border as a fundamental condition for giving money to the administration," he explained.
