You may or may not have noticed, but there's a new phrase in the workplace. "It's 5:01 and done". What does that mean? People don't want to 'schmooze' after work anymore.
"I'm not sitting here advocating for drinking all of the time" said Houston based consultant, Chris Begala, "But leaving work and getting together and socializing creates better camaraderie, it really does. And we're losing that, especially with the younger demographic."
According to the latest numbers, after work dinners are down 43% from 2019, as more and more people feel the pull of home.
"I think you're seeing a younger demographic that really wants to work from home" Begala told KTRH, "And it's not working, because you lose that camaraderie."
Younger people ages 18 to 34 are also drinking less, and many have the mindset, that the time spent at work is enough.
