The first Republican debate of the 2024 campaign is in the books, and even without Donald Trump on stage, it had plenty of fireworks.
Most of the battles centered around newcomer Vivek Ramaswamy, as Chris Christie, Nikki Haley, and Mike Pence all went on the attack.
Among the other highlights was what Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said about the border, promising to use military force to help fight the crisis.
Trump, the prohibitive favorite in the race, was not in attendance; he did an interview with Tucker Carlson on X. instead.
The next debate is September 27th in California.
