Janie Santana, if that is her real name, is under an investigative microscope.
The mother of Rudy Farias apparently, it is alleged, played a nefarious role when the 17 year old disappeared, but Houston police aren't deep enough into the investigation to file charges, assuming they will at some point.
He was reported missing in 2015. He turned up at the end of June, found sleeping at a church in southeast Houston.
The extended family is telling media outlets they hold her responsible and believe she should be arrested, but there is no indication police have found probably cause.
She has changed her name several times.
The story is emerging like a peeling onion, one layer at a time. The public won't have an understanding of what happened to whom and how and when and were for some time.
