Thousands without power across Houston; Matador tornado kills four

Last night's storms in the Houston area caused widespread power outages that Centerpoint is still trying to fix this morning. You can track the power outages HERE.

More than 300-thousand customers were affected at one point. As of 4AM that number was down to 202-thousand. Most of those impacted were in the Spring area.

The storms were so severe that a wind gust at Bush Intercontinental Airport was recorded at 97 MP, a record.

Elsewhere, a tornado in the Texas Panhandle is responsible for at least four deaths in the town of Matador, about 80 miles east of Lubbock. The population of that small town is 570.

That tornado comes six days after a confirmed EF-3 tornado left at least three people dead and more than 100 injured in Perryton.
