Re-Constitute: America Growing More Divided

As Americans continue to grow more divided over political differences, some are asking if it's time for a breakup, or worse. A recent survey found about one in five would support a 'national divorce,' as was recently suggested by Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene. Aside from struggling with how such a divorce would work, some critics believe it would only make things worse. The solution to a divided America isn't to divide further, but rather to get back to the basics of the Constitution, writes Chuck DeVore of the Texas Public Policy Foundation.

KTRH's Mark Levin also subscribes to the theory of returning to the Constitution. Levin has written and spoken extensively on the subject, even calling our current situation a 'Post-Constitutional America.'

Levin blames the radical left for the widening divide in America, starting with their indoctrination and radicalization of young people. "They dehumanize and de-individualize (their word)," he tells FOX News. "They want to create revolutionaries, they brainwash them on mob action and on protest techniques...they even encourage them to be violent."

Levin argues this is a natural result of the breakdown in trust in our institutions of government. "We have a very, very weak separation of powers now," he says. "It's been under attack by these so-called progressives for 100 years."

The bottom line is if we want to avoid a national divorce, we need to get back to fundamental American principles---starting with the Constitution. "(The radical left) wants to pack the court, they want to pack the Senate, they want to change the legislative process, they want to destroy the Electoral College," says Levin. "Just like with Marxism, it's party first, country second with these people."
