Public Discussion of Elon Musk's Texas Plant Wastewater Plan

Where Elon Musk treads controversy seems to follow.

In addition to building his own town being dubbed "Snailville," about 35 miles from Austin, for workers of Space X, Tesla, and his Boring Company. When creating the Boring Company he challenged workers to build something that can move faster than a snail's pace. In addition to his creating his own private Utopia, what Musk's Boring Company is doing with wastewater has attracted public notice.

A public meeting is scheduled for later this month to discuss a wastewater permit for the Boring Company facility in Bastrop County. The permit would allow the tunneling and infrastructure company to dump more than 142,500 gallons of treated wastewater per day into the Colorado River below Lady Bird Lake. Concerns of it entering the drinking water supply have folks worried. TCEQ has received more than one hundred complaints from residents in the area.

At the request of Democratic state Sen. Sarah Eckhardt of Austin, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has set the public meeting for 7 p.m. on March 21st at the Hampton Inn and Suites on South Hasler Boulevard in Bastrop.
