Data collection is the currency of the realm, and television manufacturers have found a way to monitor the data of what you watch to sell for massive amounts of money.
“They use something called ACR – Automatic Content Recognition – and it tries to identify the content you are watching on your tv by analyzing the pixels,” says Kim Komando.
“The data is collected and then used for marketing and targeting advertising purposes and all this sounds creepy but there are ways to turn it off depending on your TV’s brand,” says tech guru – okay I’ll say it – THE TECH GODDESS – Kim Komando, known for her syndicated radio show and now with her own TV show on Fox News.
