With guns back in the news, due to all of the mass shootings in California, a new study came out that found more Americans use guns to -stop- crimes, than they do to commit them.
According to the Crime Prevention Research Center, guns are actually used 4 to 5 more times frequently to combat crimes, but you will never hear any of those stories from the left and mainstream media, and especially not from Hollywood.
"It's their goal to make us look incompetent, and to make us look irrational" said Wes Virdell, the Texas State Director for Gun Owners of America, "And through that process they're hoping to try to change the public opinion because they're not going to win through facts, they'll win through public opinion, and that's where we have to make sure that we're getting the facts out there so people know what the truth really is on it."
Facts that you never hear, like in 2021 alone, 49% of active shooter cases were stopped by armed civilians. Or, from 2014 to 2021, there were 360 active shooter incidents, and more than 1/3 of them, 124 to be exact, were thwarted by an everyday citizen who was legally carrying a firearm.
"What's interesting from John Lott's study at the CPRC" Virdell told KTRH, "Is that when they looked at how many innocent bystander's had been shot by people trying to stop a bad guy, there were no individuals that were shot while somebody was defending them."
The study also found that Americans successfully use guns defensively, approximately 2 million times a year.
