After almost two years of leaving our border wide open, you would think that with two weeks to go now until the midterms, the Biden administration would at least pretend like they care about the issue. But that has not been the case at all.
"We didn't necessarily expect them to say anything when the new border numbers dropped on Friday" said Macarena Martinez, communications director for the Texas RNC, "And it's important to note that they dropped in the dead of night, so that people wouldn't notice them or take them into consideration, but we notice, and people in border communities have noticed as well."
Those number were stunningly bad, released after 11pm eastern on Friday night to avoid coverage. Not only was the 2022 fiscal year the deadliest ever at the border, there were 2.4 million illegal immigrant crossings, with even more that are called 'got-aways'.
"The Biden administration made the conscious decision to ignore this for over a year" Martinez told KTRH, "Well, voters are going to make the conscious decision to show them that we are not in support of what they've been doing, we are not in support of the Democrat party, and any Democrat elected official who is up for office will be shown that, come November."
The latest polling shows that the majority of voters are extremely concerned with what's happening, or not happening, at the southern border, along with crime and public safety, and of course the economy.
Election day is now two weeks away, with early voting already underway here in Texas.
