Like Water? Tik Tok It and win $1,000

The City of Houston is celebrating the magic of two parts hydrogen-one part oxygen in the month of October, and not only can you reap the benefits of water, if you win the City’s Tik Tok contest, you can win money.

Here’s their press release:

HOUSTON - Houston Public Works is hosting several events to highlight the value of water, including a contest where someone in the community could win $1,000. The department will join organizations across the country for eighth annual “Imagine a Day Without Water” on October 20, 2022. It’s a national day of education and advocacy about the value of water. This year, Houston Public Works is participating by hosting a TikTok contest and co-hosting a charity walk with Grundfos to benefit the non-profit Water Mission.

People living in the Houston area are invited to enter a TikTok contest all about water. Simply post a TikTok inspired by water along with the hashtag #ValueWaterHouston. The first-place winner will receive $1,000. Entries are due October 10. Applicants must follow the City of Houston TikTok page. Houston Public Works will announce the winner on October 20. Full contest rules: bit.ly/houwatertips.

Later this month, Houston Public Works and our partner, Grundfos, will host a charity walk to fight water insecurity around the world. The Walk for Water event Saturday, October 29, 2022, will spread awareness for those around the world without access to clean drinking water. The non-profit Water Mission receives 100% of funds raised through the event to build safe water solutions in developing nations and disaster areas. We walk, so others don’t have to. For more information and to register for the Walk visit bit.ly/2022Walk4WaterHouston. When you register, be sure to select “Join a Team” and join the Houston Public Works Team! Registration is $25 and includes entry into the event and a t-shirt.
