Despite the strong push from Democrats and the left, America's view on socialism is actually on the decline, as the majority of American's believe we should be a capitalist nation.
"Most Americans still favor the system that we operate under, and recognize the benefits of it" said Charles Blain, president of Urban Reform, "So, I guess all hope isn't lost, even if there's minor decreases, there's still a lot to look forward to because of those numbers."
According to the Pew Research Center poll, in 2019, 42% of Americans viewed socialism positively. Now, that number has dropped to 36%, with most who are in favor of it in the younger crowd.
"When you look at the numbers, it is the younger generation that favors socialism over capitalism, and I think a part of it is that they do like the 'free' things" Blain told KTRH, "I think people got used to that, but I think the other part of it is, that they look at capitalism and they don't have a good perception of what it actually is."
As expected, Republicans overwhelmingly are in favor of capitalism, but the majority of Democrats still view socialism as a good thing.
