Today is the 21st Anniversary of the 9-11 Attacks

Today marks the 21st anniversary of the 9-11 terror attacks on New York, Washington that killed more than 3-thousand people. More than 400 first responders died trying to help, as well.

So, all these years later, are we any safer? Terrorism analyst Dr. Jeff Addicott says no, telling KTRH that's because of the border crisis.

"Millions of people are coming into this country. We have no idea who they are. The 90-11 Commission report said very clearly that that was the issue; that our borders were open," he explained.

Earlier this year, an American attack killed Al-Qaeda leader Ayman Al Zawahiri in Afghanistan. Addicott the fact that Al-Zawahiri was walking around Afghanistan just a year after the Taliban re-took the country is a troubling sign.

"They are stronger than they have been than at any time since 9-11," he stated.

Among the victims with Houston ties included Lauren Catuzzi Grandcolas, who was on United 93, the plane that crashed in Shanksville, PA.
