Who works harder than Texans? Not many.

On Labor Day, who works harder than a Texan? Not many.

New research concludes that Texas is the fifth hardest working state in the country. Overall, Americans put in an average of 1,791 hours on the job last year; 442 more hours than the Germans. Financial planner Richard Rosso says the new trend among younger workers that could drag that number down.

"There's this thing now called quiet quitting, where employees will only do the bare minimum to keep their jobs. They're not going to take any extra time; they're not going to take on any extra responsibilities, and that's because they're not paid for it," he said.

Rosso also says he thinks our work ethic is going in the wrong direction.

"The edge is going to come off the overall work ethic as older generations die off. You're already seeing it," he explained.

The research also found that Americans gave up an average of 4.6 paid days off during 2021.
