Inflation Changes Spending Habits

With the cost of everything going up, consumers are putting down items they would have bought in the past.

You save where you can.

More than 80% of Americans say inflation has changed their buying patterns in recent months, saying they’re expecting to make cutbacks over the next six months. People are eating out less often.

Retailers are seeing more of their customers switching to cheaper alternatives than in the past.

And all these price increases are putting a strain on family budgets as back to school shopping accelerates. We are cutting back on non-essential purchases and compensating with a cheap treat like a candy bar at checkout.

The candles and room fragrance business at stores like Target are doing fine. They just aren’t selling as much furniture or tv’s.

Walmart says people are visiting stores less often and buying less when they do.
