A man was killed this morning in southeast Houston by the owner of a donut shop after he entered the establishment with a gun and attempted to rob it.
The incident occurred around 6:15 am at Snowflake Donuts, near the Houston Botanic Garden.
The store owner says the suspect entered the store in a black hoodie and dark clothing, armed with a gun. The man attempted to rob the store with the gun, which led to the store owner pulling out his own firearm and shooting the would-be robber.
Officials say the store owner is the only one who fired, and the suspect was pronounced dead on the scene. They're now working to determine whether this incident is connected to other attempted robberies in the area.
