Man, Officers Hurt in Cy Fair ISD Police Shooting

An altercation with a Cypress Fairbanks ISD Police officer sent an unidentified man to a hospital, with two officers also taken to a hospital Sunday morning in Northwest Harris County..

A Cy Fair ISD police official said one of his officers was on patrol and found a wrecked car about 10:30 am in the parking lot of the Cy Fair ISD administration building, after the driver apparently lost control of his car along Windfern Drive and hit a tree.

Then officials say a second man drove up, though it's unclear what relationship the man had with the driver of the car that spun-out or whether this second man was involved in any altercation.

While trying to obtain information from the driver about what happened to the wrecked car, the officer says that driver appeared agitated and then attacked the officer, and that's when the officer fired his gun.

The driver was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition; the officer was also taken to a hospital with minor injuries resulting from a struggle.

A second officer, a Harris County Sheriff's deputy, drove up and tried to help; he, too, was injured and was taken to a hospital for observation.

Now officials are gathering details of the incident as part of a routine investigation.
