Ready for your next hurricane? Ready RIGHT NOW?!?

Your mother told you early planning can make you happy later!

She was right. We know we'll probably have a big, inconvenient hurricane this season - we just don't know when. So NOW is the time to prepare.

For your convenience - here's a list (a conglomeration of a multitude of such lists) of what you need to gather and store. Remember - you can make your own kits (first aid, cleaning, hygiene etc) instead of buying them ready-made.

Items to have ready for a quick exit or "hunker down" time:

-First Aid Kit
Band Aids, Disinfectant, Gauze, Headache Tablets, Ear Plugs, Zip Lock Bags

-Medications
2 weeks supply for every member of your family - including pets

-Hygiene Kit:
Hand sanitizer, soap, packets of laundry detergent, clips for hanging clothes, toilet paper,

-Safety Kit
Glasses - reading and sun, flash lights with batteries and extras, matches - waterproof if you can find them

-Kitchen
Paper towels, canned and bagged foods - don't forget your pets - bottled water, knife

-Communication
Phone, charger, ear buds, battery operated radio, tablet, pens, pad of paper or spiral notebook

-Funds
Cash, pre-paid card, checks (if you still have a few)

-Entertainment
Deck of cards, book (coloring books with crayons for little ones), small board game,

Pets, Babies, Elderly
collect all necessities
