"The have wanted this since they were 6 years old!" That's Needville (Fort Bend County) Little League Coach James "Andy" MacRae. He says that from the beginning of the team everyone concerned was aiming for the top: "And if you work hard enough, things happen."
MacRae says the boys and their families are having a great time off the field as well - see the sights, being treated like celebrities - some are signing autographs - getting free stuff from vendors - and enjoying every second of it. He says there's a big Needville consensus in the stands as well! "We have parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents, neighbors, townsfolk and the pastor of one of our churches rooting loudly for us! It's a really big deal for Needville and they are all a part of it."
They have won six games in a row, beginning by winning the Southwest Regional tournament. Next up : El Segundo (California) on Monday night.
