Almost half of Americans are going back to school shopping! Lending Tree's Chief Lending Analyst Matt Schulz says the average cost per family for school supplies this year is over 700 dollars! "Any parent can tell you that it's one of the most stressful times of the year --- and it's causing an awful lot of stress with family people around the country!"
It's so important to a child's school success - and so expensive that credit cards are often pulled out. "It's not just an option - it's a reality! We have found that about a third of folks who are doing back-to-school shopping think they WILL go into debt!"

Schulz reiterates that it's a major investment! " $704 per household back to school spending is massive - when you consider how little room for error there is in the budgets of most families!"
He says their latest study found most are buying clothing, school supplies, shoes and backpacks....and 89% of those with younger kids say they agree that school systems should provide more supplies for students and their teachers.
