This summer will be the Usual Busy Time in the Houston Housing Market!

It's summer, kids are out of school, and time to look for a new home. It's usually a busy time in the housing market. Zillow Senior Economist Jeff Tucker says Houston is looking active. " Our Price Index for the Greater Houston Market is $307,000. The typical home is not on the market for even two weeks before the seller accepts an offer! Tucker says it's still a Sellers' Market even though prices remained flat for a year

The Houston area is ranked 34th from the top of the largest 50 U. S. metropolitan areas. Tucker says Houston is looking active. "In Houston, there IS inventory. People ARE selling houses. We're seeing 12% more inventory. And the flow of NEW inventory is up 11%!" He says it's still a sellers market even though prices remained flat for a year

Tucker says 2023 is already busy! "Houston has done a GREAT JOB at remaining relatively affordable for more middle class people --- even as it has had so much job growth and population growth. It's the 5th most populous area in the country!"

Price-wise, the Houston area is ranked 34th from the top of the largest 50 U. S. metropolitan areas.
