Let's Rodeo, Houston!

The world's largest livestock show and rodeo is opening today.

Today is the first day of the 2023 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo!

The parade is history.
The World Champion Bar-B-Que Team is named: Jasper County Go Texan.
Tonight's headliner is a local guy, Parker McCollum, a Conroe native who yesterday during the lunch rush - served as cashier at his local Raisin' Cane's Chicken Fingers! Click here to see the rest of the lineup.

Executive Director Chris Boleman has a quick rundown of the day" "If you're one of the first 10,000 here - you're going to get a bobble head of our mascot, Howdy. We're having a parade here at noon and of course Parker McCollum will close out the rodeo tonight." Boleman says fun new foods include Cheeto Chicken on a Stick and there are more events for female rodeo athletes. Boleman continues, "We're so thankful for our 35,000 volunteers coming together and working tirelessly to make a great yearly experience for our guests."

Boleman continues to describe some new exhibits and talk about a whole new day: "March the 8th - if you get here before noon - you'll get in for free! We know some people have been having a hard time. We want to provide a good experience for those folks who couldn't afford to come on another day. Also we'll have some discounts at the carnival and also some food discounts!"

Parker McCollum performs tonight and Brooks and Dun tomorrow night with the original New Kids on the Block on March 7th. Rodeo runs through March 19th.
