"Overemployment" is the latest Troubling Business Trend

With inflation nearing a 40-year high, no wonder Resume Builder found 7 out of 10 remote workers have a side hustle! The latest thorn in the side of many employers is "overemployement" - where their staff members are working two full time jobs and only one is for them. Westfall says inflation and remote work opportunities are bringing on the trend.

Biden Wants New Employment Rules for Gig Workers

Houston Business Strategist Chris Westfall says the real trouble comes when many of them are not just also working in a flower shop on weekends - they are working another full time job in their own field! "The difference between deception and profitability is only one conversation. Without it, you could be putting one of your jobs at risk - or even more!" Westfall says many employers see their relationship with their staff like a marriage and are unhappy when their partner dates someone else! "The Covid Lockdown showed us that we can work from home and do the work at both 3:00 in the afternoon - or 3:00 in the morning! For some employees, their skills are advanced and they can take those skills to other employers!"

However, Westfall doesn't see how one person can fully work 2 full time jobs - and urges you before you to take this on - have an honest talk with your supervisor. There could be other options open to you.
