We missed Hurricane Ian - but we'll soon be hit with THE IAN EFFECT!

Ian Effect: It's the financial upshot of what a hurricane in the East will have on construction costs here.

Todd Wiley of Texas Corporate Housing Solutions says there will be shortages and higher prices of everything from lumber to nails...and suggests you line up your contractors with their supplies now. But he has been to Florida and says our real pain will come later. "These guys [contractors] are still going out there and doing their initial assessments of the damage. The impact of all the material they will need to get all that work done --- that's months down the road."

The effect of Hurricane Ian on Houston will be the rising costs of constructions services. Massive damage will take massive amounts of supplies and lots of workers. Wiley says we still have a while before most of their rebuilding starts, but to be prepared for higher prices and longer wait times. Workers from all over the country are making plans to make some hay in the east...but Texas may be different. Wiley adds that workers are flocking to Florida, but there's enough work in Texas to keep them home.

"There's definitely going to be opportunities for folks over there --- but really, contractors in Texas are already stretched pretty thin. Nobody's going to Florida just to get work. So - you're still going to have folks around here to take care of your jobs!

Oh --- lest we forget: There will be new supply chain issues as well.
