We haven't had much to talk about in terms of the flu over the last couple of years. That's because of COVID. But that is also changing, according to the Mayo Clinic.
"We have stopped masking for the large part," Dr. Abinash Virk said. "We will see the re-emergence of influenza."
The re-emergence of the flu will be because most of us have returned to our pre-COVID routine.
"In 2020, we were all masking and distancing. There was literally no influenza then," Virk stated.
Last week, Houston Methodist said they were already seeing the kinds of flu numbers they usually get at the peak of the season in December.
