Keep an eye out for skunks. Keep your nose out as well!!!
Texas wildlife officials say right now the striped ones are fattening up for the winter. That means you have a better chance than before of running into one!
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service saying skunks usually only come out at night. But--- this time of year they may be out later in the morning and earlier in the evening.
Skunks are found statewide in Texas, whether you live in a urban area, out in the country or in the burbs. If you see one:
1)leave it alone
2) back away slowly
3) instruct your dog to react in the same manner
