Two Greats Join the Astros Hall of Fame Today

Tal Smith inducted into The Astros Hall of Fame Today

He's almost 90 years old and can still tell a great story with amazing accuracy and warm wit. Tal Smith began his Houston baseball career in 1960 with the Colt .45s farm system director, then assistant to the president. He was Executive Director in 1980 when The Astros won their first Division Title. He formed and ran Tal Smith Enterprises to advise MLB clubs for the next 15 years.

Terry Puhl inducted into The Astros Hall of Fame Today

Terry Puhl was born in Canada - and became a great American professional baseball outfielder for 15 years. All but one season was spent with the Houston Astros. Puhl is already a member of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame. He hit over .300 in 3 different seasons and .282 or higher nine times. He's the head coach of University of Houston–Victoria's baseball team
