Early this morning (2:00am, 7-23-2022) a vehicle that was reported stolen was spotted by a Missouri City police officer. There was a short pursuit with HPD officers joining for backup. The suspect pulled the car into a front yard of a house and began shooting at officers, shooting Officer Crystal Sepulveda twice - once to her face, and once to her foot. The suspect ran off. He was later found, opened fire on the officers and was shot and killed.
Officer Sepulveda was taken to an area hospital and is expected to recover.
