Tomball baseball team members hurt in bus rollover

The Waller County Sheriff's Office says 12 people were injured and taken to area hospitals after a rollover bus crash last night on Highway 290 at FM 362.

The private charter carrying members of a baseball team from Spartans Post Grad Academy in Tomball flipped around 10 p.m. near a Buc-ee's travel center.

Police say 21 people were on board at the time of the crash, and the dozen who were injured suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Two, however, were flown by helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. One person was reportedly trapped and had to be cut out of the vehicle by firefighters.

There was no report of what might have caused the accident.

The team was reportedly returning to Houston from a baseball game with Ranger College in Eastland County. Spartans Post Grad Academy offers a training program for aspiring college players.
