Attempted armored car robbery prompts shootout at Houston bank

The FBI says the attempted robbery of an armored car Wednesday at the Comerica Bank, 855 FM 1960, resulted in the exchange of gunfire between suspects and the armored car guard.

Authorities say three armed suspects in a black Mercedes fired at the guard around 1:30 p.m. as he was servicing an ATM. The guard fired back, and the suspects fled on foot.

No injuries were reported.

The FBI says two of the male suspects were in their mid- to late-20s with thin builds. They wore dark-colored clothing.
