Houston Holiday Road Closures Tomorrow

City, county and state offices will be closed Monday in observance of Martin Luther King's birthday.

Houston's downtown parade was virtual last year with Covid cases surging, and though omicron continue its relentless quest of infection the parade will be in person this year, with NASA Johnson Space Center Director Vanessa Wyche as the Grand Marshal.

The parade starts downtown at 10am with the theme "Be A Drum Major for Justice."

Closings Monday include schools, libraries and post offices. Banks are also closed. In Houston, all solid waste facilities are closed and trash collection is delayed. METRO, however, will operate on a regular weekday schedule.
