Gov. Greg Abbott is scheduled to announce his campaign for reelection this morning.
Abbott will kick off his run for a third term at the Hispanic Leadership Summit in McAllen, where he will woo Hispanic voters.
He launches a statewide media blitz on Monday, followed by 60 campaign stops prior to the March 1st primary.
The governor faces seven GOP challengers, while Beto O'Rourke has four in the Democratic primary.
Abbott is publicly ignoring his primary opponents and focusing on the general election.
