Counting Crows and Other Birds

Tomorrow we count the birds in Houston. On Sunday, January 2, Houston Arboretum & Nature Center is hosting the 122nd annual Christmas Bird Count. It's the longest running community science project in the world.

You will split into teams to find, identify, and count as many birds as you can find along the five miles of trails.

There will be two shifts open to everyone 12 and up, an early one at 6am to look for American Woodcock in the Meadow, and a later shift at 9am.

It's recommended that you bring your own binoculars but if you need to borrow a pair you can. And by all means, bring your camera.

All birding skill levels are welcome.
