Tonight: Texas Memorial Illumination Lighting the Skies

Tonight (11-13-2021) until midnight, the first ever Texas Memorial Illumination at San Jacinto is commemorating the 21,000+ Texans who died while in armed battle all over the world. Volunteers have placed and lit thousands of candles and later they will pick them up.

If you choose to tour the scene by car, enter from Vista Road. Then, you will go along miles to luminaria-lit roads through the woods then around the San Jacinto Monument. As you cross Independence Parkway you will arrive where Sam Houston and the Texan Army encamped during the Texas Revolution.
